History of Tangle Teezer

The world first really gets to know Shaun P, the creator of the Tangle Teezer anti-tangle brush, when he presents his idea on the television programme 'The Dragon's Den' in 2007. That the programme's judges do not have the wisdom either, as evidenced by the fact that the idea is mercilessly rejected. Shaun P, who hears his idea labelled a waste of time, does not leave it at that. The hair stylist with more than 10 years of experience at the legendary Vidal Sassoon salons in NY and LA gets it right.

The Tangle Teezer launches that same year and immediately flies 35,000 over the counter. A good idea may be the most important key to success, but it is not the only key. Entrepreneurship, perseverance and a big slice of luck are just as important. The jury of The Dragon's Den may have thought the idea of the anti-tangle brush was worthless, but the Tangle Teezer website was flooded with interested viewers. And while this brush was initially to be manufactured only in black, the unplanned pink variant actually proved very popular.
